    Dodge M4S Turbo concept: basis of the Wraith Car

    The early s was a terribly difficult time for the American auto industry. Ever since the end of the Second World War, the largest producer of cars in the world had banked on the appeal of "bigger is better". Ever larger chrome-clad behemoths rolled out of Detroit's factory gates, powered by increasingly large and thirsty V8 motors. Drunk on the success of yearly model year changes and a dizzying amounts of trim levels and option packages and the muscle car craze of the 60s, the Big Three caught a weapons-grade hangover by the time the Arab Oil Embargo rolled around in All of a sudden, enormous power assisted land barges were about as popular as Richard Nixon's hotel arrangements.
